Technical Tips

1) Data required for a typical box load calculation:
  Cold room dimension. L X W X H
Out door temp. and box temp., box location-outdoor/indoor
Insulation material and thickness-walls , ceiling and floor.
Door location, sizes
What is the product being stored? Quantity and temperature at time of loading into   cold room.   Pull-down time, i.e. time allowable for product temp to reach box temp.
Product data required:
Specific heat above and below freezing point, latent heat of fusion.
Wattage of lights, number of people and forklifts.
Any other heat-producing appliances in the box.

2) Do not use shipping skid as a permanent base.

3) Units equipped with spring-mounted compressors have shipping spacers that are designed to hold compressor rigidly during transit. It is necessary to remove spacers before operating the unit. To remove shipping spacers, follow these steps:
  a) Remove the upper nuts/washer.
b) Discard the shipping spacers.
c) Install the rubber cone washers (located in electrical box).
d) Replace the upper mounting nuts/washers.
e) Allow 1/16 inch space between the mounting nuts / washers and the compressor      foot.
On units equipped with rigid mounted compressors, check the compressor mounting bolts to ensure they have not vibrated loose during shipping.
